JOHOR BAHRU – Due to the influence of the Covid-19, it is unable to go abroad and enjoy the atmosphere of Christmas. However, Eco Galleria mall, located in the Eco Garden area of Johor Bahru has been transformed into an internet-famous site for people to celebrate Christmas in order to let the public feel the atmosphere of the Christmas snow drifting in winter.
The Christmas Carnival in Eco Galleria, named “Christmas Around the World”, was launched by the popular real estate developer Eco Worlds Development Group Berhad.
“Christmas Around the World” features specially curated entertainment inspired by international attractions in London, but also Taiwan and South Korea.
There is a 60ft high Christmas tree, the tallest in Johor Bahru placed at the entrance of the Eco Galleria mall, the setting of London Christmas style bell tower decoration on the wall, as well as a large Christmas Bazaar with 50 stalls that held every weekend, allowing the visitors to take pictures and enjoy delicacies and even able to take in the exotic Christmas atmosphere as soon as they step in.
LK Entertainment art director Jonathan Weerasinghe said this event has actually been done in Taiwan and all over the places too.
He said it is supposed to be here but due to the Covid-19, everything came apart.
“We decided to bring it here because everyone is going to miss Christmas so LK Entertainment actually decided to bring it in,” he said.
The biggest feature of this Christmas Carnival is that it has 90 per cent simulated snow similar to natural snow, and the raw materials are friendly to the environment and bring health hazards, so visitors can feel at ease the feeling of being surrounded by snow.

Besides, there are 15,000 dreamy LED rose garden which are located in Eco Botanic 2 demonstration houses opposite the Eco Galleria mall. The 15,000 LED roses have a sea view after nightfall, which makes visitors intoxicated.
Weerasinghe said they wanted to try to make something very different so they actually brought those flowers in from abroad and they wired them all up.
Finally, this masterpiece was successfully shown to the visitors and became the most popular internet-famous site in Johor Bahru.
The overall Christmas Carnival’s concept is to bring in the Christmas atmosphere of foreign countries and bring a bit of a Malaysian elements into the design.
Weerasinghe added they were no sleep to think about this idea in order to implement a fun place for all the ages.
He said their suppliers also worked hard on all the areas for them and they are appreciated and can get great support from the Eco World.

It is worth talking about because it still attracted many young visitors from all directions to visit due to this special and interesting Christmas Carnival that contains a lot of popular destinations.
21-year-old university student Tan Shu Fei said Eco Galleria Christmas Carnival is very innovative with a variety of stalls such as balloon stalls, food stalls and so on as well as the Christmas atmosphere attracts her to punch in there.
She said as she is a Buddhist, she does not have the habit of celebrating the Christmas, so the Eco Botanic festival let her feel the atmosphere of foreign Christmas.
“The one difference with previous Christmas is that we have to follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), a lot of things are restricted, but the festive atmosphere is still very strong.
“We highly recommend you to bring your family, friends and partners to punch in here,” she said.
Wong Xue Yi, 21, an event planner said that the evening and afternoon atmosphere will be slightly different.
She said the night scene will be more beautiful and there will be more atmosphere there. Besides, Eco Galleria mall will have beautiful Christmas decorations and children’s activities, as well as the Christmas show will be arranged.
“In addition there are all kinds of small stalls, and the Christmas show will be arranged.
“I think it is very suitable for a family to go there to enjoy and feel full of the Christmas atmosphere,” she added.
To continue this festive atmosphere, this special and interesting Christmas carnival will continue until January 2, 2022, from 11am to 10pm.
